In Georgia, homeschooling is recognized as a legal educational option. Here's how to get started:

Submit a Declaration of Intent to the Georgia Department of Education each year by September 1 (or within 30 days of beginning homeschooling). Ensure instructional hours and content meet state requirements: 180 instructional days per year 4.5 hours per day (minimum)
Required subjects: reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science Maintain records, including attendance and progress assessments. Administer a standardized test every three years beginning at grade 3 (results kept in your records).
